It’s no secret that the subsonic L-39 Albatros has a new successor, the L-39NG, manufactured by Aero Vodochody. This beauty will also show off at SIAF in its grey camouflage and we guarantee that you will “leave” your eyes on it.
The L-39NG is a modern and efficient light jet aircraft capable of performing the role of a light combat, unified and complex aircraft, for full training of pilots of modern air forces. The aircraft is based on the aerodynamic concept of the original L-39, but its design is largely new. Ninety percent of the fuselage parts are new construction and only ten percent are parts from the original Albatros. As a point of interest, the L-39NG aircraft consists of 12,000 parts, made up of 100 different types of aluminum alloys and 100 different steels.
IT’S A „STING“
The L-39NG is powered by the highly fuel-efficient FJ44-4M engine supplied with the TAP Blue maintenance system, which provides users with unprecedented flight capability and predictable maintenance costs. The aircraft’s avionics are ready for training future pilots of fourth- and fifth-generation aircraft and can be largely customised to customer requirements. The aircraft is equipped with five hangers for carrying armament in the combat variant. The aircraft also includes a wide range of simulation technologies, including integration into a highly advanced tactical simulation centre to enhance training effectiveness.
THEY LOOK FORWARD TO SIAF
The L-39NG took to the skies for the first time at the end of 2018 and in September 2019, Aero Vodochody presented it to the general public at the NATO Days in Ostrava, where the manufacturer also celebrated its 100th anniversary.
Our Slovak pilots had the opportunity to test the L-39NG at Sliač airport in April this year and were literally thrilled by the aircraft, and we are sure that you will be too, at 4.-5. September 2021 at Kuchyňa/Malacky airport.
„SIAF International Aviation Days are the best opportunity to show the L-39NG to the Slovak public. We are happy to showcase our new jet from Aero Vodochody on the ground and in the air. For this occasion, our factory pilot Vladimír Továrek is preparing an aerobatic demonstration and we believe that the visitors will not miss it”, told us PR manager of Aero Vodochody, Tobiáš Tvrdík.
