Innovation & Aviation Summit 2020 is an international gathering of aviation & space innovators, professionals & experts in Prague. The event is organized under the auspice of the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.

Meet the experts, innovators, investors, leaders, government officials, financiers, key stakeholders, event partners, manufacturers, CEOs, and directors from all around the world. From institutions such as ESA, ESA BIC, NASA, Bell, GIAS and many other global influential aerospace companies.

Explore the future global trends in the aviation & space industry, startups that will revolutionize the aviation industry, attractive aviation investment opportunities, challenges facing the aviation market today, space exploration, future of UAV and new technologies such as additive technologies, big data, electrification in aviation, AI in aviation and future market trends.

The event will take place in the historical premises of Prague Baroque Refectory in the centre of Prague on the 26th of February 2020.

At the beginning of the conference, we will welcome Steve Matthias, Bell Vice President for Military Business and Strategy, as well as his colleague Scott Drennan,  Vice President for innovation and application of new technologies at Bell, a subsidiary of Textron Inc., a leading industrial manufacturer of commercial and military, piloted and unmanned aircraft, and a pioneer in rotary rotor engines.

The conference will also introduce two experimental test pilots: Damian Hischier has completed over one hundred and thirty first flights not only of aircraft but also, as one of the few pilots in the world, drones, among others for Volocopter. The former military fighter pilot Thomas Reinert, a test pilot of the German manufacturer Grob Aircraft, one of the world’s largest and most experienced composite aircraft producer, will give his insight and share the news and experience in the field of modern pilot training and the revolution in the selection of new pilots.

With the increasing volume of air transport worldwide, it is important to transport more and more passengers more efficiently, faster and cheaper. Therefore, in the opening part of the conference, the director of Wheeltug PLC, Jan Váňa, will introduce you to the revolutionary electrical technology of aircraft movement on the ground, which will significantly change aviation as we know it today.

The European Space Agency will be joined by business analyst Joana Kamenova, who will discuss investment opportunities and opportunities for cooperation in space projects.

ESA BIC will be to offer two projects: smart solutions for business operators for Strafos business starts by Daniel Valeš, company director and Stratosyst, to offer a universal platform that can stay in the stratosphere for months – presented by its director Jiří Pavlík.

Aviation is becoming not only more efficient and faster but also smarter and greener thanks to 3D printing. The latest trends in the area of application of additive technologies and their impact on the economy, ecology and maintenance will be presented in the presentation by the President of GE Aviation for the Czech and Slovak Republics Milan Šlapák.

Director-General of Air Navigation Services Ing. Jan Klas will follow up with the “Smart Sky” project – the long-term goal of the strategy to create conditions for safe, long-term, comprehensive and sustainable development of the drone industry in the Czech Republic. The concept follows the long tradition of classical aviation and aims to further develop existing competencies in such a way that the Czech Republic is generally perceived internationally as a leader in the field of drones at least at European level. At the same time, it seeks to create the necessary regulatory operating framework up to the level of autonomous drone flying, even with the possibility of experimental flights. The key competitive advantage, the creation of which is the main objective of this concept, will be the automation of drone flying in the Czech Republic.

Also, Simona Franková, CEO of NG Aviation, will be dedicated to airport digitization and will present the Smart Airports Project, unique software for digitizing aeronautical data for airports, air traffic control, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Defense, civil aviation authorities and other aviation users.

Tomáš Rousek, a space architect who, with his projects of spaceships and bases on other planets, a project of a lunar module and a hotel in orbit, has also attracted NASA experts. Tomáš graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague and the International Space University ISU in Strasbourg. He is now director of the international architectural and design company A-ETC and works with NASA in Los Angeles and ESA.

David Pavlík, a member of the management of Kiwi.com in Brno since July 2018. His place of work before joining Kiwi.com was SpaceX.

We will also make a virtual visit “into space” with astronaut Andrew (Drew) Feustel and into NASA’s space laboratory with Tom Nordheim, who will introduce us to the latest in space research and join us online.

Last year’s winner of the Red Bull Air Race 2018 – Martin Šonka – will be welcomed in the final “star” panel! Martin Šonka, pilot of the World Series of Red Bull Air Race, European Champion and World Vice-Champion in aerobatics category unlimited – freestyle, member of the Czech national team in aerobatics category unlimited. From gliders to motor acrobatics to supersonic fighter jets … and now mainly the taming of a special in the Formula One Red Bull Air Race … This is, in short, the story of Martin Šonka.
