The Czech industrial-technology powerhouse CSG, owned by entrepreneur Michal Strnad, is making a bold move into the rapidly growing Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and advanced defence technologies sector. The newly formed company AviaNera Technologies a.s. (AviaNera) will unite research, development, production, and sales under one roof—marking a decisive step for CSG’s aerospace ambitions.
AviaNera will operate in close collaboration with Excalibur International, CSG’s global trading and project agency, ensuring immediate commercial reach and access to complex defence markets.
“Our goal is to become a major player in military UAS and advanced weapon systems. Just as we built a strong position in small-calibre ammunition within a few years, we now aim to achieve the same in high-tech defence technologies,”
— Michal Strnad, Owner & CEO, CSG
According to Miloš Šivara, CEO of Excalibur International, this move will transform CSG’s global offering:
“From day one, CSG will deliver not just UAS solutions but complete systems developed and produced in-house — a game-changer for our customers and partners.”
At the helm of AviaNera is Pavel Čechal, former Executive Director at PBS Group, who brings deep aerospace expertise and a clear vision:
“Our focus is on vertical integration and next-generation propulsion systems — from jet and turbofan to shaft engines. We are creating a European hub for unmanned technologies.”
AviaNera is already pursuing strategic acquisitions and partnerships across Europe and Ukraine, the latter being a focal point for cutting-edge UAS development.
The name AviaNera nods to Letňany’s rich aviation heritage and signals the dawn of a new era.
“A breakthrough period is coming in aviation. Missions once handled by manned aircraft will increasingly be performed by unmanned systems — the barriers now are regulatory, not technological,” adds Čechal.
As defence markets worldwide accelerate their adoption of unmanned platforms, AviaNera is positioned to become a key European supplier of propulsion units and complete UAS systems — powering the next generation of aerospace capabilities.
