Embraer celebrates milestone during Paris Air Show 2025
Embraer has announced a significant operational achievement for its A-29 Super Tucano, marking over 600,000 flight hours worldwide. This milestone underscores the aircraft’s enduring relevance as the only light attack, armed reconnaissance, and advanced training turboprop in production, selected by 22 air forces globally.
Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security, stated:
“It is a privilege to share this key achievement in the successful trajectory of the leading aircraft in its category.”
The A-29 has established itself as a multi-role workhorse across a wide spectrum of missions—from border surveillance and armed ISR to Close Air Support (CAS) and JTAC training. The recent acquisition of the A-29N variant by Portugal, built to NATO interoperability standards, highlights the platform’s adaptability.
With advanced avionics, reliable performance on unpaved runways, and low lifecycle costs, the A-29 remains an ideal solution for air forces seeking modern, rugged, and flexible aircraft.
