Embraer has unveiled Smart Planning, a new artificial-intelligence–based solution designed to enhance operational efficiency across its global production ecosystem. Developed in partnership with Aquarela Analytics, the tool leverages more than two terabytes of operational data to improve inventory management, forecasting accuracy, and the responsiveness of Embraer’s supply chain.

A Data-Driven Approach to Production Stability

Over a ten-month development period, Embraer and Aquarela evaluated and integrated complex datasets with the goal of creating a more predictive and agile planning environment. Smart Planning provides an interactive dashboard that helps Embraer’s planning teams anticipate material shortages and excess inventory, supporting better purchase decisions and more accurate stock-level management.

“Smart Planning is the most up-to-date data tool integrated into our processes,” said Dimas Tomelin, Vice President of Strategy, Digital and Innovation at Embraer. “With the use of artificial intelligence and prediction models, it gives our teams more capability and predictability, improving the effectiveness of our operations.”

Agile Development Meets Advanced Data Analytics

The project combined Embraer’s internal Agile methodology with Aquarela Analytics’ Data Culture Methodology (DCM), moving through two major development phases—from data extraction and preparation, to building AI models and visualisation interfaces that can be deployed at scale.

“We applied all of our expertise in data analysis and AI algorithms to transform Embraer’s operating system,” said Marcos Santos, CEO of Aquarela Analytics. “It was a challenging and highly collaborative project. We are proud of the results and the partnership.”

Foundation for Future Supply Chain Innovations

Beyond improving inventory planning, Smart Planning establishes a digital framework for broader Industry 4.0 initiatives. Enhanced data integration has already contributed to cost reductions, quality improvements, and stronger coordination with suppliers and partners.

The initiative underscores Embraer’s commitment to operational excellence and digital transformation across commercial, executive, defense, and agricultural aviation sectors.
