The momentum continues – Global Medical Response (GMR), a key North American helicopter operator, just placed another substantial order with Airbus Helicopters, securing up to 15 advanced H140 helicopters for emergency medical missions. Hot on the heels of their recent order of 28 aircraft in November, GMR demonstrates unprecedented confidence and ambition in expanding its fleet and capabilities.
“This new helicopter design will transform patient care and emergency response capabilities,” emphasized Ted Van Horne, COO of GMR. “Our medical teams and pilots are excited—this helicopter will significantly enhance critical care in challenging environments.”
Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, echoed the enthusiasm, noting the order as a major milestone: “We’re thrilled to bring the innovative H140 to North America with such a distinguished partner. This order truly speaks volumes about GMR’s commitment to leading-edge medical aviation.”
Featuring a revolutionary T-shaped tail boom, optimized Fenestron rotor, and powerful rear-loading capabilities for various stretcher and incubator systems, the H140 is scheduled to enter service in 2028, solidifying GMR’s position at the forefront of air medical services.
