AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE has announced its strongest financial results in modern history for the year 2024, reflecting the success of its transformation strategy and focus on proprietary product development. The company reported revenues of CZK 6.007 billion, adjusted EBITDA of CZK 821 million, and a net profit of CZK 102 million, marking a year-on-year increase in EBITDA of over CZK 1 billion since 2021.

The strategic pivot, implemented after the company’s ownership change in 2021, centers around the production and export of the new L-39 Skyfox jet trainer, robust aerostructures partnerships, and deepened collaboration with existing customers. In 2024, 63% of total revenue came from the Skyfox program, with aircraft delivered to Vietnam, the Czech Republic, and Hungary. Additionally, aerostructure programs such as the Airbus A220 and Embraer C-390 Millennium contributed significantly to the company’s growth, accounting for 23% of revenues.

“These results confirm that our strategic focus on the L-39 Skyfox and stable aerostructure programs is delivering,” said Viktor Sotona, Chairman of the Board at AERO Vodochody.
“Aero is once again becoming a respected European manufacturer of military aircraft. This progress is the result of the dedication and expertise of our entire team.”

L-39 Skyfox on the Global Stage

In 2024, Aero delivered 12 Skyfox aircraft to Vietnam, two to Czech state-owned LOM PRAHA for F-35 pilot training, and the first three aircraft to the Hungarian Air Force in May 2025. Contracts were also signed with two new customers, and negotiations are ongoing with partners across Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Civil Programs on the Rise

The Aerostructures division generated revenues of CZK 1.39 billion, a year-on-year increase of over CZK 500 million. Key programs included the Airbus A220 (58% of Aerostructures sales) and Embraer C-390 Millennium (35%), both of which expanded production based on renewed commitments and contracts signed in 2024.

Strategic Investments and Innovation

In 2024, Aero invested CZK 164 million in equipment, IT infrastructure, and facilities modernization. Major investments included a new forming press, implementation of an IFS ERP system, and Siemens PLM tools. An additional CZK 70 million was invested into Skyfox development and L-159 avionics enhancements.

Commitment to ESG and Responsibility

Aero continues to prioritize human capital development, partnerships with educational institutions, and sustainable operations. The company has strengthened its ESG framework, modernized infrastructure, and deepened its commitment to responsible employer and community practices.
