A pre-integrated open architecture cockpit environment designed to simplify avionics integration for new aircraft programmes and fleet upgrades

SPEEL PRAHA s.r.o., ScioTeq and C3RiOS Systems are unveiling a modular avionics core at Future Forces Exhibition & Forum 2026. Combining head-up and large-area displays, an avionics computer and open software in a pre-integrated open architecture cockpit environment, the solution is designed to give aircraft manufacturers and operators an adaptable starting point for new aircraft programmes and fleet modernisation. A live demonstrator is on show at the SPEEL PRAHA stand in Hall 3, Stand 336, PVA EXPO PRAHA, from 21 to 23 October.

An integrated cockpit on real flight hardware

The demonstrator combines SPEEL PRAHA’s PDU-159 head-up display with ScioTeq’s RDU-4208 large-area display and PU-5200 avionics computer, including its certifiable MOSArt® Open Architecture Framework, together with C3RiOS application development and certifiable avionics software.

The cockpit environment operates on flight hardware using recorded data from an actual flight. Visitors can explore the system’s capabilities and see how the components work together. A PC supplies the recorded flight data; the cockpit functions run on the demonstrator’s avionics hardware.

A common foundation for different platforms and missions

Cockpit modernisation requires displays, processors, software, interfaces and sensors to work together. The modular avionics core is designed to simplify this task by providing an already integrated environment that can be adapted to an aircraft’s configuration and mission requirements. Its purpose is to present flight and mission information clearly, support pilot situational awareness and reduce workload, while retaining scope for customer-specific functions.

“SPEEL, in cooperation with its partners ScioTeq and C3RiOS, aims to address the evolving needs of modern aviation by presenting flight and mission data to pilots in a clear and intuitive manner, enhancing situational awareness and reducing workload. Together, we strive to develop an integrated avionics solution that can be adapted to a wide range of platforms and offers extensive customization possibilities to meet the specific requirements of individual customers.”

Pavel Valina, Sales Manager, SPEEL PRAHA

Complementary expertise in avionics hardware and software

SPEEL PRAHA contributes its experience in head-up displays, flight data and aircraft systems. ScioTeq provides rugged, high-integrity display technology and an open, certifiable computing platform. C3RiOS contributes avionics applications and software designed to accommodate additional mission functions within a consistent human-machine interface.

“By combining ScioTeq’s RDU-4208 large-area display and PU-5200 open avionics computer with the complementary capabilities of SPEEL PRAHA and C3RiOS, we are demonstrating how key cockpit building blocks can be brought together into a coherent and adaptable solution. This cooperation provides aircraft manufacturers and operators with a practical foundation for developing next-generation cockpits or modernising existing fleets, while reducing integration risk and retaining the flexibility needed to address platform-specific requirements.”

Jan Deraedt, Product Manager Avionics, ScioTeq

For trainers and light combat aircraft, the partners see this architecture as a basis for adding mission capabilities through the existing cockpit interface. C3RiOS describes how functions such as counter-UAS could be incorporated into that environment:

“Modern trainers and light combat aircraft need a cockpit that grows with the mission. With SPEEL PRAHA and ScioTeq, we are bringing an open, modular avionics core that supports today’s training and operational roles and is ready for tomorrow’s. The human-machine interface was designed from the outset to absorb new mission functions: a counter-UAS capability is not bolted on as a separate screen or controller, it becomes a mission page on the existing displays, with the same symbology, control logic and pilot workflow as everything else in the cockpit. And because the C3RiOS software is open by design, operators can source those capabilities from the supplier of their choice rather than being locked-in to the original equipment manufacturer.”

Brent Nelson, President and CEO, C3RiOS Systems Inc.

Meet all three partners at the SPEEL PRAHA stand

The teams from SPEEL PRAHA, ScioTeq and C3RiOS will be exhibiting together at the SPEEL PRAHA stand, where visitors can experience the live demonstrator and discuss potential applications with representatives of all three companies.

SPEEL PRAHA will be represented by Petr Vidiečan, R&D Director, and Pavel Valina, Sales Manager. Joining them will be Jan Deraedt, Product Manager Avionics, ScioTeq, alongside Brent Nelson, CEO; Rajiv Singh, VP BD & Commercial; and Alexis Bouffies, Software Developer, from C3RiOS.

21–23 October 2026 | PVA EXPO PRAHA | Hall 3, Stand 336
